    Escalabilidad del index en SPS 2007

     
    As we move ever closer to RTM, we can now confirm that the recommended document limit for SharePoint Server 2007 is 50 million documents in a single index, dependent on hardware. A' document' is classed as anything from a Word or PowerPoint file, to a web page or an individual SharePoint list item. We currently have no technically enforced document limit within SharePoint Server 2007.

    SharePoint Server for Search (Enterprise Edition) also has no technically imposed limit and is designed to work with a single index.

    SharePoint Server for Search (Standard Edition) has an imposed limit of 500,000 documents, and also has a single index.

    MOSS BDC Bussines Data Catalog

    Con Sharepoint 2007, es posible integrar información de aplicaciones que contengan su información en bases de datos como oracle,sql u otras muchas, dentro de nuestras listas, documentos, formularios y busquedas.
     
    Un componente clave de esta integración es el BDC, personalmente esta función de MOSS me parece de las mejores y tiene un gran potencial.
     
    El siguiente articulo, es tremendamente interesante ya que muestra como se enseñan los datos de estas aplicaciones dentro de Sharepoint.

    Forms Server

    Infopath es un gran producto, pero tenia un problema y era que todos los usuarios tenian que tenerlo instalado.
    Con Office 2007, aparece el forms server, que nos permite publicar los formularios de infopath como paginas web dentro de sharepoint.
    A mi me parece una de las mejoras mas importantes y esta lleno de posibilidades.

    Instalando MOSS 2007 Beta 2 TR1

    1. Install the MOSS 2007 Beta 2 with all its pre-requisites (check previous post on this blog about the details).
    2. Run the "SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard" to get the SharePoint Central Administration site in place
    3. Remove the Windows Workflow Foundation Beta 2.2 (one of the MOSS 2007 Beta 2) pre-requisites.
    4. Install the .NET Framework 3.0 RC1.
    5. Install the WSSv3 Beta2TR update (it's a single executable file called WSSv3b2tr-kb000000-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe for the x86, English version)
    6. Install the MOSS 2007 Beta2TR update (it's also a single executable file called officeserver2007b2tr-kb000000-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe for the x86, English version)
